I bought this game for the PC when it was released. I liked the previous 2 games on the series, but this was beyond them in two things. Graphics, much better, and controls with the keyboard. The first two games were not fantastic with a keyboard, which was the only thing I had. After a few years the DVD just stopped working, perhaps "rot" perhaps something else, I don't remember.

Plus, it throws rudimentary tuning and car upgrading into the mix, which should appease vehicular fanatics. Get out of the menus and onto the track and the majority of racing fans will not be disappointed. Unlike simulations like Gran Turismo, this is pick-up-and-play gaming.

But Codemasters is skilled enough to deliver a depth that will find veteran players continuing to shave seconds off their lap times months down the track. This is thanks to the game's physics, which handle body-roll, tyre grip and acceleration impressively.
